Aglio Olio
-China Square Central #01-40/41 (3 Pickering Street)

This small restaurant have been picked up by many articles, tv programmes and foodguides. It claims serve a 'singapore version' of pasta and specializes in just 3 varieties, namely aglio, cream sauce and tomato based (You may also choose the level of spicyness) Pizzas are also available for dinner.

Sotong Aglio ($7.90, excluding GST)

Instead of being listed as 'squid aglio', it chose to use a more local term. It came with a large pieces of sotong and some small bits of mushrooms. It was really commendable how they are able to make a simple aglio olio so tasty. A garlic paste was used, together with just the right amount of olive oil.

Mushroom Aglio ($7.90)

The same preparation methods used, but only tossed with mushrooms. The price was the same, making this less value for money.

Overall: It was one of the best Aglio Olios i've tasted so far, as many others tasted bland and was soaked in oil. However service was rather slow and they delayed their opening time. The portion was also a little too small for a filling meal.
