Faber Rock
-The Jewel Box @ 109 Mt Faber Road

Right at the top of the peak, Faber Rock is an alfresco style bar which offers a beautiful view of sentosa. The atmosphere here is great, nicley lit with dazzling decorative blue lights and christmas songs being played. A small orange lamp was placed on each table, and the entire layout was pretty. Both western and local fares were available on the menu, but the choices were rather limited.

Coke ($5) & Hot Green Tea ($5.50)

Old Fashioned Fish & Chips ($22)
"battered fillet-of-fish, french-fries, salad and tartar sauce"

The fish was very thick, and was fresh without any fishy taste. Codfish was used instead of the commonly-used dory fillet. It wasn't entirely crispy, only at the sides while the middle portions of the crust was soft. The fries was just average and not too crispy as well.

Seafood Ragout ($30)
"mussels, prawns, scallops and salmon served with lobster sauce, young vegetables and roasted potatoes"

Every piece of seafood here was extremely fresh, but i especially love the 2 pieces of thick succulent scallops. There were also 2 huge mussels, 1 juicy prawn, a salmon and a codfish slab. my only grouse was that the lobster sauce was slightly too bland.

Drums ang Wings ($9)
"chicken drumlets and stuffed boneless wings with sambal sauce"

The drumlets were breaded then deepfried, just like those in KFC. The boneless wings were much more special, with little chicken meat to savour but instead loaded with glutinous rice.

Baked Apple Crumble ($9)

By the time it was served, the scoop of vanilla icecream had already started melting. The crumble was not warmed up but matched well with the chilly icecream. The whole crumble was too fragile and soft, and easily makes you sick of it.

Assorted Cheese Cakes ($9)

The four flavours included original, coffee marble, oreo and blueberry. The plain one had a very strong cheese taste which may be too much for some but was still bearable for me. Still slightly frozen when served, it considered satisfying enough.

Overall: Basically a good dining experience with a comfy atmosphere but the problem lies in the transport. Pricewise obviously kind of expensive, but this is in exchange for the efforts spent and the quality of each dish.
