N.Y.D.C
-Wheelock Place #02-19

Its the first time i'm having my main course here, cause the previous visits are solely for the desserts (yes, they have the best apple crumble!) An american style cafe with a dog named 'Boney' as their main mascot. Found the menu very interesting, with creative dishes' names like Tears in Heaven, Romeo & Juliet, Destiny's Child etc. The entire layout and illustration is kind of kiddish but really cute.

Mushroom Madness Pizza ($13.95 -7 inch)
"Max's famous recipe! Lots of fresh mushrooms with garlic sauce and mozzarella. Named "Best Pizza in Singapore" by the Straits Times"

Truthfully, i did not agree about the last part of their description. The breadcrust was rather thin and came burnt at its sides. Fresh button mushrooms were used, and it turned too dry after baking. The garlic sauce was a little over-peppery, covering the taste of garlic.

Roast Chicken & Grilled Peppers Baked Penne ($10.90)
"With shredded roast chicken, grilled peppers and onions, plus mozzarella in n.y.d.c garlic sauce"

For all of their oven-baked specialties, a choice of rice or ziti pasta was given. This dish was nice! The entire combination of ingredients were good; penne in savoury garlic sauce plus those chicken shreds and mozarella cheese. Yummy~ The decision to take Pasta instead of rice was probably a right one, cause having rice in sauce can easily make you sick of it.

Overall: The baked pasta was superb, but the pizza was overrated. Worth returning to give the 'Baked Specialties' items and pastas a try! Fast service as well.
