Roma's Cuisine
- Blk 163 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, #01-428
http://www.romascuisine.com/

Just a small shop at a corner of an HDB block, but it serves a wide range of both western and eastern vegetarian food. Interesting items include the baked rice, pizzas, spaghettis, italian herb bread and all sorts of puff pastrys. Whats more, it is all pure vegetarian dishes without garlic, onions and eggs.

Cream of Mushroom Soup ($1.50)

This soup is seriously good! Thick enough, tasty, creamy and had a reasonable amout of fresh mushroom slices in it. Definitely not the canned kind, plus the cheap price made it even more worth trying. I must also comment that this is much better that many restaurant's mushroom soups.

Vegetarian Chicken & Mushroom Baked Rice ($4)

Another absolutely value for money choice.

The rice was well seasoned in a light cream base, and tasted extra nice with the herbs sprinkled on it. The cheese was not too much to make you feel sick of it, and there were also broccoli bits & carrot slices in the rice. However, i felt it was a little too oily as they oiled the base of the dish before baking it.

8 Treasure Brownrice Porridge ($2.50)

This was okay, with chunks of carrots, potatoes and stuffs. Great for the health-conscious as it was a little bland.

Overall: Variety is definitely a hit with the vegetarians around the area, and can also attract many non-vegetarians as well. The western cuisine is really up to standard at affordable prices. However, there are only limited seats available.
