Thunder Tea Rice
An unbelievable healthfood
-Food Republic @ Vivocity

I was pondering between this or a bibimbap from the korean stall but still chose to have this. It was partially because this seemed to be a form of 'healthfood' and i was getting a little sick of korean food after my trip. This is my second time patronising, and there were no change in taste at all.

Thunder Tea Brown Rice ($4.50)

Brown rice made this 'healthfood' a step healthier, but it cost me 50cents more to opt for the switch. Definitely no regrets for that because their brown rice was not too dry nor with any strong smell of wholegrains. However, i would certainly not take a second sip from that watery greenish thunder tea. Even though it was diluted with water, the weird minty taste still remained as unbearable as ever. Made up of groundnuts, sesame seeds, green tea leaves, mint leaves, basil leaves, Chinese parsley, coriander leaves, Mugwort and Fuliksum, i knew it was beneficial in some ways but i would rather not torture myself to finish it.

The standard toppings comprises of roasted peanuts, crispy anchovies, beancurd cubes, cabbage shreds, longbeans & wingedbeans bits, chopped choy sum and a kind of floss. Many would love to mix it up and get crunchiness with every mouthful of rice, and i was no exception.

Overall: According to them, the dish is said to enhance slimming, detoxify the body, prevent fatigue, promote vitality, improve body functions, ease digestion & chronic bronchitis, prevent hypertension & hardening of the arteries, inhibits cancer cell growth, helps treat diabetes, enhance relaxtion and improves good sleep. they must be kidding me! Its like some form of miraculous medicine, hard to believe uh? but i guess even if those claims were true, one has to comsume it on a long-term regular basis for any effect to take place. Still, not bad for a healthier meal choice.
