Azeera Restaurant
kovan's not-so-simple prata corner
-(i do not know the exact address)

A 24hr prata stall hidden in some corner of kovan. Its been here for some time already, but its the first time i'm specially making a trip down to try it. Prata craze? yupp, im trying to hunt down the better prata places out of the many in Singapore.
I must say the menu is rather exciting for a humble stall like them. There were all sorts of specially concocted drinks like Ice Milo Godzilla, White & Black Spider, Ice Blended Nescafe/Milo Shake, Ice Almond Cino, Ice Limau Ginger, Sunkist Twist, Ice Blended Honeydew Smoothie etc. Sounds cool uh?

For pratas, there is plain, paper, butter, coin, cheese, banana, masala and icecream. Murtabaks, thosai, different types of nasi and mee were also available. Something new to me was the Pyramid Thosai. The entire menu was on the signboard and prices were not listed.
Paper Thosai ($2)

This was seriously huge~! The plate is already considered large but the paper thosai actually extends across it.

It was thin and quite crispy (like how its supposed to be)but not entirely- some parts in the center was soft. Also, there was layer of grease coated on it.
Feeling that i cannot taste the original flavour of the thosai from the paper one, i ordered a plain thosai as well.
Plain Thosai ($0.80)

Okay this is the one in which i get more fussy about. Paper versions are usually too thin to be tasted, so it feels the same for every stall. But the plain thosai without any filling is something i can easily compare. And theirs here is really bad. It was very airy, with many holes in it. The main thing i didn't like about was the over-sourish batter. Quite unbearable actually.
Paper Prata with Chocolate ($2.50)

A huge paper prata rolled into a cone. The surface was coated with maple syrup and then drizzled with chocolate sauce.
Overall: I saw a schoolgirl from another table having the icecream prata and it looked pretty tempting! Its possible that i may drop by again for that, since its quite near to my place. The indian owner here was also quite friendly, and requested to see the photo i took of the prata. lol.
