Jack's Place
the steakhouse's desserts
- Compasspoint
Decided to come to Jack's Place for an after-meal dessert session. Felt pretty weird going into the restaurant, flipping through the menu and eventually just having desserts. Same service given, but with a standard service charge and tax of course.
Apple Pie Alamode ($4.50)

This is basically their house apple crumble warmed up and served with a scoop of vanilla icecream. By the looks of it, you can tell that its the messiest crumble ever encountered- the apple cubes and crumble crust have all fallen off from the base. The base and crust were like softly cakey; instead of crumbly. The apple came in big chunks, and was not too sweet. Pretty normal vanilla icecream, but came well-frozen.
Double Scoop Mango & Vanilla Sundae ($2.50)

You could like choose from about 4 flavours for this. The vanilla icecream at the bottom came almost fully melted. The icecreams were very average, tasted exactly like those in tubs purchased from supermarkets. No toppings given.
Overall: A different style of apple crumble, but could improve in presentation and serving time.
