Thye Hong
food republic's treasure
-Wisma Food Republic

They probably enjoy the most roaring business here at the Wisma Food Republic, that even queue barriers were set up in front of their stall. Yes, i may agree that this is the most popular stall around, but i would not deny it is also the most overrated one.

Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles ($4)

Many liked it because it is served in a pretty folded banana leaf, but it only achieved in the visual effect (no difference made to the taste). The noodles were mass cooked in an extremely huge wok, and then individually divided into the plates. Most of the mee used were thick beehoon, and the few yellow noodles were hard. The taste of the broth did not incorporate into the noodles and was too watery. 4 unshelled prawns were given, but the squid pieces were way too pathetic. The only good thing was the chilli, which was spicy enough.

Overall: The idea of mass cooking their highly-rated noodles was a bad one, in which caused the whole standard to drop. It also caused the inconsistently cooked noodles, which was too hard. Trust me, this is not worth trying.
