Ambush
fresh fusion pasta

Here's a smile-incurring alternative to pricey italian restaurants in town. Tucked in the gourmet section of Taka Food Hall, this new F&B outlet breaks away from the norm of usual food kiosks.

Its quite a novelty to see how creativity is well-reflected in their list of available pastas. Well, think out-of-the-box; we're not just talking about the good ol' marinara here.

Simply be pampered for choices of how you want your meal to be. Just as the menu variety gets you in a fix, you will be futher wowed by the 10 base-sauce choices! They also offer 4 different types of pasta: Spaghetti, Linguine, Penne & Fusilli (just like pastamania).

What's more, its an open-concept kitchen and the wafting fragrance of pasta just draws you over instantly!

Teriyaki Japanese Fishball Skewer Spaghetti ($10.50)
(in Rustico Sauce)

I was taken aback to see the nine whole Japanese Fishballs; they were sure generous with these firm and chewy roundies. I even found some tako bits in them. The rustico sauce came with buttoh mushrooms.

Japanese Baby Scallops with Seaweed Fusilli ($10.50)
(in Fish Roe Cream Sauce)

The 6 scallops were of awesome quality- fresh, huge and tender. Accompanied by the light-tasting fish roe cream sauce, this certainly was a suitable fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine.

Overall: Its no where else other than Ambush for the moderately-priced hassle-free dining. Enjoy being served without the additional service taxes- nett prices on shown on menu. With Asian influences infused into their dishes, these are wonderfully tailored to suit the local palate and budgets.
