Hog's Breath Cafe
the primerib lover's place

A successful Australian homegrown theme restaurant with that rustic charm. They keep emphasizing that the primeribs are their specialty but unfortunately i couldn't try it personally.

Salt & Pepper Calamari ($10.95)
"Flash-fried seasoned calamari rings served with a lime chilli dipping sauce"

Seasoned till tasty, breaded and then deepfried to a faint brown colour. The squid was still soft and chewy but the thin coating was soft instead of crispy.

Hickory Smoked Prime Rib ($32.50)
"A real Tex-Mex smoked flavour. Seared and topped with a Hickory smoked BBQ sauce on the char grill"

Imagine sinking your teeth into this 300g piece of succulent steak which was slowed cooked for 18 hours before being seared on a chargrilled. It should be really good, man!

Dory Fish & Prawns with Honey Mustard Sauce ($26)

A daily special that is not listed in the menu. The pan-fried dory fish was soft and moist, but the prawns were not exactly fresh. It was probably overcooked until it became too tough. The honey mustard sauce turned out to go quite well with the seafood although it may seem a little weird.

Overall: This is actually one of Australia's largest themed steakhouse chains that expanded to Singapore. Quality shown in food, but also reflected in the prices.
