Ichiban Boshi
sushi and so much more

This is my family's usual place whenever a japanese cuisine craving hits. We all agree with their elegant ambience, quality food and affordable prices.

Crispy Lobster Salad Roll ($1.90)
"lobster salad, spring onion"

Deep-fried maki in tempura batter topped with tasty lobster salad- its my sister's all-time-favourite.

Nama Hotate Avocado Gunkan ($1.90)
"fresh scallop"

Sushi with fresh scallop bits, avocado cubes and shrimp roe tossed in mayonnaise.

Aburi Maguro Nigiri ($1.90)
"half-cooked tuna, garlic, mayo, sesame seed, spring onion, chilli powder"

The tuna sashimi slice is really half-grilled with skill!

Agedashi Tofu ($5.90)

The classic tofu dish that we never fail to order at japanese meals. Their version here is thinly-crusted and well deep-fried.

Tofu Salad ($4.80)
"chilled beancurd with a subtle yet superb flavour, plus green vegetables with sesame dressing"

fresh cold tofu chunks on fresh salad with a generous portion of crispy flakes and sesame dressing.

Salmon Shioyaki ($9.90)

plain grilled salmon- simple and good.

also ordered a few of their grilled items;

Yakitori Black Pepper ($2.40)
"chicken leg with black pepper sauce"

Tsukune ($2.40)
"minced chicken with teriyaki sauce"

chicken meatballs with a nice sweet glazing.

Tokusen Chirashi Wazen ($19.90)
"half-portion soup noodles, assorted sashimi rice bowl, assorted tempura, chicken teriyaki, miso soup, appetizer, chawanmushi & dessert"

This is their promotional set dinner which changes periodically. Consists of;

Assorted Sashimi Rice

Half-portion Soup Noodles

Chicken Teriyaki

Assorted Tempura

Chawanmushi

Peanut Mochi

This simple blob of mochi surprisingly wowed us. The outer skin was amazingly soft and offered an instant melt-in-the-mouth sensation; its no ordinary mochi.

Overall: We frequent here so much that the staff have all recognised us. Service is good, and food quality have been commendably consistent (:
