Restaurant Hoshigaoka
the family japanese restaurant

Agedashi Tofu ($5.80)

Soft coating that becomes sticky after submerging into the sauce. I liked the nameko mushrooms on top they were too stingy with it.

Salmon Ju ($11.80)

Three teriyaki salmon fillets on a bed of rice soaked in sauce.Generous portions of salmon given but it was a little too dry.

Nabeyaki Soba ($13.60)

ooh, soba stewed in a claypot. It came with fishcakes, chicken slices, mushrooms, an egg and a prawn tempura. The noodles were cooked soft and became slightly soggy due to the cooking method.

Sashimi Bento ($22.80)

Sashimi Platter, prawn & assorted veggie in clear broth, chawanmushi, rice and miso soup.

Tempura Soba ($12.80)

We requested for the tempura to be separated so it doesnt get soaked to a soft mess in the soup.

Macha Ice cream

This was a free dessert under the Weekend Bento set promotion. Tasted rather weird though.

Overall: A very standard family-style japanese restaurant offering sets to cater to all member in the family. They have cool models of their food displayed outside the restaurant for viewing. One thing- it gets crowded on weekends so be prepared to wait.
