Sakae Sushi
"good place, very good sushi"

A quick lunch with my family at Wheelock Place on chinese new year's eve.

Amaebi Nigiri ($1.90)

Quite a substantial portion of rice fresh sweet shrimp.

Unagi Wasabiko ($1.90)

The portion of unagi was seriously too pathetic for me, and the wasabiko was tasteless.

Fried Tofu ($1.90)

The fried tofu here never disappoints with its thin battered crust and sweet sauce.

Tako Yaki ($1.90)

It was the frozen kind, but well deep-fried.

Cha Soba ($1.90)

I still preferred Ichiban Boshi's chasoba because this was slightly too fine and hard.

Ika Tempura ($4.90)

Sakae's very own style of "calamari"- large slices of squid in their classic tempura batter. yummy.

Yaki Moriawase ($18.90)

A complete mixed platter of grilled items like shitake mushrooms, scallops, salmon and prawns complemented with teriyaki sauce. the scallops were a little unfresh but still, great for sharing.

Tempura Ramen ($9.90)

mummy's ramen with prawn tempura.

Overall: Frankly speaking, Sakae serves pretty decent tempura dishes. Try their fried tofu and ika tempura- they do it much better than other places.
