Spageddies
classic italian kitchen

One of my family's favourite place for casual italian cuisine and we used to patronise them pretty often in the past. They used to have many outlets but have slowly reduced to only two- Tanglin Mall and Paragon.

The spacious interior is dressed in the decidedly Italian tones of terra cotta, deep green and creamy white. Thru the open-concept kitchen, you can actually see the flames of the traditional wood-fired burning oven used to bake their pizzas.

Fried Calamari ($8.50)

A usual starter for our meals at Spageddies. This is where i first tried Calamari when i was young and fell in love with it. The coating is unforgettably unique; a blend of breaded and battered. It tasted even better when dipped into the spicy neapolitan sauce.

Crayfish Parmigiana ($18.50)
"Sauteed crayfish with spicy neapolitan topped with mozzarella served with spaghetti aglio olio"

Both my dad and i had this- our favourite pasta choice here. A splendid combination of crayfish and light olive-oil tossed pasta.

Just look at the succulent pieces of oven-baked crayfish revealed under a layer of mozzarella. Tasted well of the tomato-based sauce.

Their soft & chewy spaghetti was another notable aspect. Tossed with chilli flakes, black pepper, fried garlic slices and chinese parsley, it exudes an exclusively pleasant flavour.

Apple Cobbler ($5.95)

Apple crumble with a different name. Huge chunks of apples which releases sweet juices with every bite. The pastry simply forms a soft mush in the mouth and absolutely lacks the texture that a crumble should have. However, theres a nice usage of roasted walnuts on the crust. Vanilla icecream was still alright.

Overall: Service was not too bad, but there were some really blur waitresses. The Tanglin mall outlet is usually less crowded and orders are served faster.
