Sun with Moon
Japanese Dining & Cafe
art on a plate

Its where you can have high-quality japanese food served like pieces of artwork. As for the ambience, it is certainly top-notch.

The Kamameshis are their signature dish- seasoned rice served in a heated pot.

The serving staff will turn the hour glass once the kamameshi is served. One minute later, you may remove the wooden lid and enjoy the piping hot rice. Mix it all up and you may find some rice crisps at the base. In the local context, this is actually similar to claypot rice.

Salmon Kamameshi ($14.80)

3 grilled Salmon pieces with salmon roe over savoury rice. Light brown in colour, the seasoned rice was lightly tasty. I liked having the soft chestnut chunks and broadbeans mixed with the rice.

Pork Karubi Kamameshi ($14.80)

The same rice base with grilled salted kalbi pork instead.

Tofu Cheesecake ($5)

There wasn't any taste of tofu but the texture of the cake was close enough. The light cheese was sweet with a tinge of lemon. Served with a meticulously folded paper crane, just how artistic is that!

Overall: The place is usually full due to prior reservations so there may be a long wait. oh, and dinner only starts at 6.30pm.
