Vila'ge Restaurant
the marketplace dining

Taking over the Marche location at Heeren is Vila'ge Restaurant, which looks 99% similar. In fact, everything from the operation to food and decor is the same. oh, but they have a cute nerdy cow mascot instead (:

marketplace furnishing.
Spicy Seafood & Cheese Crepe ($8.80)

Assorted seafood pieces (prawns, crabsticks and squid) in a spiced marinade, over loads of mozzarella cheese wrapped in a freshly-made crepe. It was yummy.
Pizza ($9.90)

We were given a choice of 5 toppings. We chose prawns, squid, ham, capsicums and pinaeapples. The thin crust was good at the sides but was somehow still wet and underbaked in the middle. they were rather generous with the cheese.
Half-shell Scallops with Garlic Butter ($13)

6 grilled scallops in a butter sauce. The scallops were small and totally not worth the price.
Waffle with Pistachio Icecream & Strawberries ($11)

The waffle was thin and normal-tasting but i liked the pretty design. It was shaped of 5 hearts joined together (: Topped with plenty of fresh halved-strawberries, chocolate sauce and a scoop of creamy Movenpick Pistachio icecream.
Overall: I couldn't tell any difference from Marche (except the name), and so i guess they are of equal standards. The concept is good, allowing diners to have a feel of a marketplace operation. haha. service was fast as well, with efficient clearing of trays and plates. They have another branch at China square central while Marche is at Suntec and Vivocity.
