Kim Dae Mun Korean Cuisine
delightful korean sets

Shar recently introduced me to this korean food stall at Hotel Meridien's Greatreats food court. I was surprised to see how popular they were with the working class when the queue started to build up at lunch time.

Their variety is sure enough for me to ponder about my choice for a long time. They offered all kinds of korean-syled soups, rice sets with dishes and noodles at affordable foodcourt prices. 3 choices given for appetisers; kimchi, anchovies or seasoned cucumbers.

Hot Beancurd Soup Set (Spicy)
($5.50, additional $0.50 to change to brown rice)

Served sizzling in a hot pot and came with a huge bowl of rice and anchovies. There were plentiful of soft tofu cubes, egg, morsels of chicken meat, and even fresh cockles. oh man, the soup was sure delicious! It tasted so good with an eggy flavour and very mild spicyness, plus all those silky tofu! yum yum.

Chicken Soup Set ($6)

Hers was a spicy soup base with a range of assorted ingredients like chicken, korean vermicilli, leek, cabbage & beancurd. I didn't try it but she gave her rating by finishing every bit of it.

Overall: Restaurant variety & standard, plus really value-for-money generous portions. The best part is that all their food are made healthier; water is used in replacement of oil and organic brown rice is available at just $0.50 more (:
