Kokoro Japanese Cuisine
oh-so-wonderful katsus

Happened to notice this Japanese stall at the same Greatreats food court when i came for korean food. It gathered a queue as well and so i came back just for it!
Wow, another wide range of dishes served. Everything looked so tempting on the menu but i chose to go for soup noodles instead of rice.
Fish Katsu with Udon ($5.90)

A bowl of udon in soup accompanied with a made-to-order breaded fish cutlet. Lets skip the standard udon and go straight into the best part..
Fish Katsu

Okay, I don't usually go for katsu items at Japanese meals but this wowed me to no end. Deep-fried to perfection (i mean it), resulting in an amazing light crisp and beautiful light brown shade. The fish was really fresh and moist that I wonder how they did it so well, haha. Plus, the zesty orange sauce & mayo added an extra kick to it. THUMBS UP.
Salmon Teriyaki with Soba ($6.90)

A paltry salmon slab grilled and then drizzled with standard teriyaki sauce- something you would probably expect from foodcourt stalls. It was passable, but just tends to be less satisfying with the presence of the fish katsu.

Soba noodles cooked soft in a clear broth, hard to go wrong.
Overall: I caught a glimpse of a Curry Fish Katsu Don and it looked so so good. I will be back to try more of their impressive katsu items!
