Queen Street Nasi Padang

Uncle Peter used to take us here for lunch after our occasional trips to the guanyin temple. Have always been pinching their food from them to sample but i'm finally back for a proper tasting. Owned and managed by chinese, the Nasi Padang here is assumingly non-halal.
Business was considered pretty good- i guess with the patronisation of their regulars. Their dishes here come only in one batch and they were all cleared out by about 3 pm.
Rice with fried chicken & vegetables ($3)

Rice with otah & beansprouts ($3)

Whole Squid ($3.50)

Probably known as one of their signature dishes, this squid dish is certainly pricey.

Submerged in a special black gravy, the entire slab of squid came well-flavoured and absorbed in it. However, it was way too oily.
Overall: The variety of dishes available here are resonably delectable but just somehow too greasy. Despite the price, customers are still drawn to the food and flows in constantly for them. Go early before they sell out.
