tripling the variety

Deep down in the basement of the Funan's outer area is a lively looking restaurant-one of the longest standing in this location. Despite its japanese-sounding name, they serve far beyond just sushi. The menu actually offers japanese, korean and thai cuisine all under one roof!

The place is furnished in the modern zen-influenced style, bringing in a sophisticated yet comfortable ambience. Both conveyor belt and table seating available.
Agedashi Tofu ($4.80)

The tofu cubes were middling in standard; oddly shaped with a overly-thick crust. With the sauce as normal as it can be, this dish is not worth ordering.
Salmon Garlic Fried Rice ($6)
"fried rice with garlic, onion, carrot, egg and salmon"

Served in a surprisingly generous portion, this fried rice was a wholesome choice for a filling meal. All the ingredients added crunch to the overall dish.
Tomyam Chicken Thai Kway Teow Soup ($8)
"spicy noodle soup with sliced chicken and vegetables"

The kway teow was the thai-styled kind and the chicken slices were quite tender.
Teppanyaki Seared Garlic Cuttlefish Set ($10)

The Teppanyaki Fiesta 5-course sets came with a main item, vegetables, rice, miso soup and fruits. Prices for the different mains varied but most were at $10.
My choice was the seared garlic cuttlefish, which was fully flavoured with chopped garlic. The squid pieces were really savoury but some parts of it came mushily bad in texture. The stir-fried vegetables were also a tad too oily.
Teppanyaki Cod Fish Teriyaki Set ($10)
My sister had a codfish slab with teriyaki sauce instead.
Overall: They manage to strike with variety and value- 3 cuisines at the most affordable prices. Service was rather meticulous and the food came fast. The food may be average but really value for money.
