Yan Seng Cooked Food
inducing some good wok-hei

Heard a couple of raves about this black carrot cake stall at Tekka Market and decided to go try it. It may seem like a normal kueh-selling stall but they have got chai tow kueh that packs a punch (given a full mark rating by makansutra).

Black Carrot Cake ($2)

Came piping hot since it was only fried upon order. The carrot cake slabs are nicely soft and blends so well with the sweet dark sauce. Contained many large egg pieces and tiny chai-poh bit- everything is evenly fried with a mild wok hei. Yummy~

Overall: The uncle at this one-man operated stall is polite and his version of black carrot cake fully deserves the high rating. Its a must-try!
