enjoy the art pieces

Went for a meal this time instead of just their desserts. They may be specialized in making those sweet slices but i must say that they have some pretty good main dishes as well.

Compliementary Ciabatta Bread

Started with their home-made ciabatta bread which came with butter and olive oil. Nothing special about the bread and it wasn't toasted.

Chicken Consomme ($7.80)

It just feels super weird to have these high-class chicken dumplings western-style. Definitely much pricier than our local fare but at least they came huge in size.

Baked Squid with Aioli Salad ($13.80)

Quite a nice refreshing appetizer with plenty of soft tenderized squid rings topped on a bed of fresh greens. Some garlicky cream dressing at the base went well but the bits on the squid tasted a little too empowering.

Linguini with Bratwurst Balsamico
($14.80, plus $3 for crispy bacons)

Tossed in a darksauce-resembling marinade, a good choice for the meat lovers.

Linguini in Mushroom Cream Sauce
($11.80, plus $6 for tiger prawns)

My main course; soft linguini pasta submerged in thick cream sauce. Generous portions of mixed button & oyster mushrooms given and the cream was tasty without being too heavy. The only disappointment had to be the medium-sized prawns which weren't exactly fresh.

Warm Chocolate Cake ($9.80)

One promising version of warm chocolate cake; rich chocolately cake of the right thickness filled with semi-molten chocolate. Nicely complemented by the vanilla icecream but would have been better if the filling was more liquidified.

Chocolate Souffle ($10.80)

Their souffle was made extremely moist but still maintaining some fluff. However, i didn't fancy the coffee-flavoured ice cream that came along with it (if only it was vanilla =p).

Assorted Macaroons ($1.50 each, takeaway)

These colourful assorted macaroons (rose, pistachio & lemon) were just too tempting to resist. I liked the rose one which had lots of buttercream sandwiched between the meringues; and its so pretty in colour! Just a bit too light in taste.

Overall: Efforts shown to infuse the local-flavours into their dishes generally went well. The friendly female manager showed some good service in enquiring about our meal. oh, and i will want to try their otah ciabatta the next time round.
