Billy Bombers
have a bite of the American Dream

Have walked passed their outlets at Bugis & Marina Square countless times and found the strong american influence really appealing. And at last, xinya & i came here for dinner!
Everything here is so american-styled; from the food to furnishing and even the waiters' uniform! The concept here about the imaginary character Billy and his life brings in an interesting twist to the whole dining experience. beware, their portions are large.
Route 66 ($14.50)
"for all you funghi lovers out there. bite-sized grilled mushrooms bathed in melted swiss cheese, accompanied with lettuce and tomato"

What a huge burger! My favourite part was the bread, well toasted and buttered without being too cloying at all. The chicken was also quite well-marinated and tender but the toppings were disappointing; thinly sliced mushrooms with pathetically dry cheese. I would prefer normal fries to their unimpressive homemade chunky fries.
Yin & Yang ($16.50)
"the perfect balance for all you greedy carnivores out there! our juicy beef patty combined with succulent chicken thigh, and finished with a sunny-side up"

If mine was considered huge, this should be mega. Here is xinya's burger accompanied with her choice of potato salad. The lusciously thick beef patty was awesomely moist and oozing with juice when she slices it. Potato Salad was similar to Pastamania's but still a tad more superior.
American Brownie ($5.90)
"granny mae used to make these for billy wheneve he came over. ah, those warm summer days with the sweet aroma of brownies with a scoop of icecream"

This melt-in-the-mouth brownie was super fudgy and is luxuriously rich in chocolate. Lots of toasted walnut and oat bits added some delightful crunch to the soft texture. The vanilla icecream was a little artificial in flavour but extremely creamy, nice!
Billy's Banana Split ($6.90)
"made the traditional way: slice banana in middle, plonk three generous scoops of creamy ice-cream in the middle. serve. comes with vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice-cream topped with chocolate sauce"

This was free becuse i had a cutout voucher from Cleo magazine. The 3 solidly huge scoops of icecream were stunningly creamy and flavourful (tasted exactly like milkshakes); very very american style indeed.
Overall: It was a really fun dining experience and i enjoyed the meal alot! We were both SUPER FULL after it- the burgers are seriously POWER. Will definitely revisit some day to try the other main courses.
