Tea Shake Hut
the most authentic bubble tea

This is one memorable tea hut which my family patronise since i was young, its rather unbelivable how long-standing they are. Used to frequent them so often in the past for their bubble teas, toast, lor mai kai and siew mai; we pratically pop by on every trip to bugis. Their authentic bubble tea and superb pork floss toast still leaves a deep impression in me (:

So here we are back at Tea Shake Hut, this time for a proper lunch.

Dry Mee Siam ($4)

My parents love eating the dry version of mee siam, but its very hard to find it around. Fortunately for them, this dish is available from Mondays to Saturdays (lunch only). All of us ordered this but it didn't exactly suit my liking. The taste it gave was far from expectated, badly lacking in the spice kick that a plate of mee siam should possess. Furthermore, the halved prawns were dry and pathetic.
Sour Plum Green Tea ($3.90)

Dad's cup of bubble tea to go along with his meal. Pricey, but worth for its authenticity- the foamy layer on top is an indication of it being prepared by shaking.

Overall: Its one great spot to stop by after a long day of shopping. Grab a snack and quench your thirst with a refreshing glass of REAL bubble tea! oh yes, do try their toasts- but skip that mee siam.
