Aspire Cafe
oasis of Joo Chiat

A new-found cafe in the east- this is the place for relaxing while being kept entertained. Lay on the soft cushions with accessible magazines, boardgames, food, and even screenings of entertaining movies. Furthermore, look out of the window and a bustling joo chiat scene comes to view. How nice is that!

The Ultimate Brownie Challenge ($3.80)

After reading the raves from i-weekly, this sure seemed more of a letdown. It was as standard as it can be, merely catching the gist of what a brownie should have. Dry chocolate slab with no fudgyness, no melt-in-the-mouth sensation and no rich chocolately aftertaste. To make things worse, it came with coffee icecream instead of my anticipated vanilla. The addition of whipped cream, choc stick and cornflakes didnt manage to complement the brownie too well. Totally failed to impress.

American Cheesecake ($3.80)

I have no idea why it came drizzled with chocolate sauce instead of the strawberry sauce shown on the menu. But, at least this managed to fare better than i expected. Although not smooth enough, the cheese still beared an acceptable taste with a faint dash of citrus. What outshined most was the crust, made up of extremely coarse biscuit crumbs baked crispy.

Enjoy an entertaining movie as you bite on their food; its one good way to keep the city stress off. Just a pity that the food lacks to give that satisfying punch.
