Bolly Bolly
campus indian delicacies
Returned to my secondary school, TKGS, with sarah to collect our O Level certificates and of course.. to have lunch at the canteen! Frankly speaking, tkg's canteen food is nothing to wow about but i truly miss the memorable Thosais from the indian stall.
We were both pretty shocked to find the whole canteen being revamped with a new outlook. Every stall is now given a huge bright signboard with their own "classy" names like Noodle Bar, Western Bonanza etc... And the most distinctive one?
BOLLY BOLLY!

Received some extra friendly service from the Indian vendors, an Indian couple who very generously gave us larger portions of food (it was quite obvious). I have no idea why they spell it as Dosai, but there is sure a large range of them available here.

Chicken Dosai ($1)
I had my first ever thosai here and it seems to be the only place so far with the chicken version. For just $1, you get handfuls of unexpectedly unique filling encased with a very thin sheet of pleasant batter. Heartily chopped cubes of lean meat in a bright red sauce gives a sweet and spicy flavour combined with a touch of indian fragrance.

Egg Dosai ($0.90)
Sarah's one was the same dosai batter but with an whole egg in it. Lighter in taste but still savoury.

Each order comes with a single-portion of warm well-cooked curry gravy for dipping. Furthermore, there's a whole long list of dosai combinations offered at the most affordable student rates. I call this a student privilege and its definitely something worth coming back for!
