Mai Zhi Su
another vegetarian haunt

According to my sister, the chef here is previously from a hotel's restaurant. So dad, sis and i went decided to try their cze char dishes for dinner.

Seaweed and Tofu Soup ($4)

Clear soup with seaweed, tofu, cauliflower, sliced mushrooms, carrot and ginger shreds. The entire taste is empowered by the seaweed.

Claypot Tofu ($6)

Both dad and sis liked these- tofu fried to a golden-brown with crispy edges simmered in a brown gravy. Came with assorted veg like cabbage, capsicum, kailan, cauliflower, celery and mushrooms.

Golden Mushroom with Seasonal Vegetable ($7)

A clear and light dish i liked that was tasty enough and contained wolfberries.

Steamed Fish in Teochew Style ($8)

A wonderful version of vegetarian fish- The codfish slab is home-made unlike the common mock fish. Its soft, tender and well-absorbs the savoury soysauce and nice touch of ginger.

Took away a Pork Chop Rice ($3)

Deepfried mock meat patty in their special batter accomapnied with fries and rice.

Overall: The food may be commendable, but the bad service attitude seriously needs improvement.
