The Patissier
artistic gateau slices

Sight and taste, which one is more important?

I would say both, but its sad to know that more and more commercial cakes these days only possess a pretty face. Now i've finally found the quality cake shop with best of both worlds achieved; The Patissier's cakes look good and sure taste good as well.

Only got to know of it 2 years ago after dad ordered one of their cakes for my 15th birthday. This local Patisserie pays very special attention to elements such as design and presentation and all their products do contain some true substance.

In fact, we loved it so much that we managed to accumulate $100 worth of spendings within a month to be entitled to join their membership. One of the privileges given was a $10 voucher (with $30 spent) and we used it to get 6 slices of our favourite delights.

Box of 6 Mini Cakes ($5.20 each)

Passionfruit Meringue

Being their only meringue item, I would consider this as one of their signatures. A light meringue sponge serves as a casing filled with passion fruit mousse, fresh mango and strawberries slices. It exudes a very pleasant fruity flavour which all of us love, and thats why we bought 3 of this!

Empress Dowager

My personal favourite- layers of vanilla sponge filled with smooth creamy strawberry mousse and fresh raspberries. All these are laid over a delicious ferrerorocher-alike hazelnut wafer base, making it a must-try item!

Green Tea Bavarian

A layer of flavoured chocolate sandwiched between Green Tea mousse with rum soaked raisins. Being the first ever cake i've tried from them, this was the one that amazed us. Its still on the top of my sister's choice list (although mine had changed to the Empress Dowager).

There's still many more varieties that we have yet to try but there's no hurry; i have a lifetime membership with them (: The next time you want something special for any occasion, Patissier is a good place to get it.
