The Soup Spoon
bowls of quality sips

Despite the murder incident that took place, mum and i still settled for a meal here. The dinner crowd was overwhelming for their relatively small shop space but the wait didn't stop me from my decision to tuck into a bowl of hot, comforting soup.

We both went with a regular soup bowl complete with the Souper Value Meal deal. For an extra $3.70, we had a choice of an entree (half sandwich/wrap/salad) and a side (ice lemon tea/lays chips/apple). Trust me, this is one substantial meal.

Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff ($5.60)

It has been ages since i had such satisfyingly thick and chunky soup. Probably one of the best i've had, this is just perfect for mushroom lovers.

Every spoonful comes bursting with fresh mushroom chunks! No doubt about it, i slurped up to the very last drop.

Meatless Minestrone with Gremolata ($5)

Feast your eyes with the wonderful colours, and bite into hearty chunks of zucchinis, kidney beans, tomatoes, fresh basil and macaroni. Slightly too sour for me but mum liked it.

Another winning-factor was the fabulous accompanying bread which wow-ed me to no end.

The crust is distinct without being too hard; the interior was soft, fluffy yet not over-airy. I loved the gap between its substantial and dense texture, plus the nice infusion of strong rosemary. Bestest bread!

Half-portion Cajun Fish Wrap

Cajun Fish, Red Onion, Cucumber, Peach, Romaine Lettuce, Tomato, Mint Dressing

Their wrap, however, wasn't exceptionally impressive. Standard skin with monotonous clumps of minced fish. At least the lettuce and peaches gave it a more refreshing touch.

Half-portion Tuna Mayo Sandwich
Tuna Mayo, Red Onion, Green Salad, Honey Mustard Mayo.

Petite cut of foccacia sandwiching a small clump of tuna mayo.

Ice Lemon Tea

Good soup plus good bread- A perfect match that will ensure my return. I'm still craving for more of those bread balls they serve!
