Take-out from Cedele

Dad bought home sandwiches for a light dinner, both neatly wrapped up in cutely-designed paper. I got him to get a slice of cake as well and it came packed in a box with an adorable girl mascot- thumbs up for packaging and presentation!

I was surprised to see the size of their sandwiches, they were sure HUGE and tall. And then i realised, the bulk is actually due to the generous stack of fresh crisp lettuce given.

Totally Veggie Grilled Tofu with Wholemeal Sunflower Seed Bread

"this home-made grilled tofu burger is a light treat with fresh tomatoes & lettuce. A great vegetarian favourite!" Being a vegetarian for the day, i had no other choice but to pick something out of their 3 vegetarian selections. The bread was thickly-sliced and toasted until the sides were super tough and difficult to bite apart (i'm sad to say this is always the case at Cedele, but i will bear with it since its organic food). I've actually tried the chicken version of their patty and would consider this more considerably more moist and soft, furthermore having a mild indian spice to it. Reckon its made up of potato, tofu and some beans.

Ham & Cheese with Wholemeal Sunflower Seed Bread

"a familiar sandwich and all-time favourite with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, premium ham, fresh tomatoes and lettuce". Dad's sandwich; slightly smaller in size with a few ham slices and semi-melted cheese. Looks quite delicious.

Orange Macadamia Cheese Cake

"soft orange cheese cake baked with fresh orange juice, and completed with rich buttery macadamia nut" This is the kind of soft pliable cake which immediatly mushes up in the mouth. It tasted refreshing with that strong orange fragrance but the thing i really love about was the addition of the macadamia nut bits; really crunchy and offered great chewing pleasures. Disappointingly, the base came oversoft and buttery that it lacks in the texture it was supposed to have.

If there was an award for the freshest vegetables and the neatest sandwich assembly, it would surely belong to Cedele. The best part- pleasantly healthy and guilt-free food!
