Casuarina Curry

ooh, we are back at my thosai heaven! It was my suggestion to bring our canadian relatives for some authentic local breakfast here but they couldn't make it at the last minute, what a waste! Anyways, i still managed to persuade my parents to take me here (:

Mushroom Thosai ($2.20)
As i had anticipated, this awesome thosai still holds on to its victory ranking..

The snowy white batter reveals underneath the brown surface, spread out to the perfect thickness i desire- not too thin nor thick. Well-cooked with an undescribable "wok-hei". The first bite was slightly sour for a start but the taste got much better subsequently. Still an excellent version of thosai though there's nothing exceptional about those tasteless mushrooms.
Pretty decent dips came along with it; there was dhal, curry as well some chutney. All were thick and flavourful in their own ways.

Dad and mum were the very "traditional" eaters, still going for orders like the kosong and paper pratas. The plain prata was basically a round plate-sized with a fluffier interior while the paper came folded into long rectangular shape. I find this over-crispy and oily for my liking. Costing 60 cents more was the garlic prata dad tried, which resembled the paper but slightly more charred.

Whoa this was a stunner! The chicken chunks (although not exactly tender nor moist) were very well smothered and absorbed with the masala gravy, bursting with a delectable unique spice taste. It didn't appear too sharp but just very addictive. Try using it as a dip for the pratas- its far more supreme than the normal curry!


Teh-O, Teh-Ci & Teh-O-Bing
I'm still in search for a worthy thosai competitor but i guess it'll take me quite some time. Just a wonderful thosai and a mug of cold Teh-O-Bing here would make an enjoyable meal for me- and it doesn't cost a bomb (:

Masala Chicken - Great. Prata too oily.
Still prefer Nan with Tandoori Chicken.
