Cedele

Dinner with daddy at his all-time-favourite cafe in Wheelock Place. For a quieter meal with abundant seating choices, a Sunday evening is the best time to approach this place. We comfortably tucked into a four-seater window table and enjoyed a slow dinner.

Both of us picked our sandwiches off their seafood selection, which required a minimum wait of 10 minutes. Dad took this time to kickstart his meal with an order of clam chowder. In a squarish bowl came a warm, resonably tasty soup containing cubes of potatoes. I found it a little too diluted.

Boston Clam Chowder, with bread

Every soup order is accompanied by an entitlement of complimentary bread; free-flow but self-service. Butter and olive oil provided.

Time for the sandwiches!

Shrimp Avocado Wasabi Sandwich ($9.80)

Warning: Cedele's bread may be quite difficult to tackle with. Take for instance this wholemeal Sunflower Seed i had- tough, hard to chew, but at least a lot better than the ciabatta. Fortunately, the refreshing mix of fresh cold shrimps, avocado slices and a distinct wasabi aioli made up for it.

Sea Bass Lovers Sandwich ($13.80)

Dad attempted an interesting combination of a grilled seabass with sun-dried tomato pesto, melted brie cheese and mayonnaise on the same bread choice. A pretty good one.

Organic Soy Milk ($4)

Two mugs of healthy beverage for us. Foamy, with a strong "organic" taste to it.

I'm really starting to change my impression of Cedele... guilt-free foods made lovely. If only they could do some fine-tuning for softer bread =p
