Golden Prawn 933, Batam

Our first meal on the sunny island of Batam was a seafood lunch provided under the day tour package...

Claimed to be Batam's most famous Seafood Restaurant, this resturant built on stilts was packed with tourists (so it is just a common spot for the travel agencies). Food served was same for every table- 6 dishes and a soup to go with white rice.

Kang Kung Belachan

Gonggong Rebus

Sauce Chilli Crab

Udang Mentega

Ikan Stim Hongkong

Sotong Kecap

Tofu & Squid Soup

Very standard seafood- I actually have more complains than raves for them. Fish was awfully tough, crab was extremely small in size and nothing appeared exceptionally fresh. I only found the miniature crispy prawns quite a special dish. oh, not forgetting the gigantic coconut juice we had...

Fresh Coconut Juice

Bigger than any one of our heads! (compare it to the size of the rice bucket behind it) Not a totally satisfying meal i would say, but at least we had a variety of seafood to startoff our trip with (:
