Miao Yi Vegetarian Restaurant
Sister's choice for our usual friday night dinner. As usual, a few ala carte dishes to go along with plain rice.

Spicy Prawn ($10)
A favourite dish of ours but there was a clear drop in standard this time, its just not the same when it gets too spicy and less crunchy.

Clay-pot Beancurd with Assortment ($9)
Made a switched from my usual hotplate to claypot for a change. Soft plain tofu with some assorted vegetables in a bubbling hot gravy.

Teochew-style Steamed Fish ($12)
This dish is not listed in the menu but we always manage to order it through the waitress. We like it done this way- soft mock codfish, silken tofu in a mildly sour clear gravy (due to the preserved vegetables). Very simple but palatable.

Saute Spinach ($8)
Nothing exceptional about this glossy oil-coated vegetables.

Red Bean Pancake ($10)
We weren't intending to get any desserts until the waitress mentioned this. I had it once during our reunion here and its no doubt a credible version. Crispy on the outside yet substantially layered with sufficient redbean paste inside. Not too cloying with sugar nor too oily, thumbs up!

Another vegetarian meal for us, but at generally pricey restaurant rates. Dessert was the best dish for me.

The standard of food seems to have drop. Beside the dessert (red bean paste pancake) which is good the rest were so-so. Was dissappointed with their prawn dish which ussed to be much better.
