N.Y.D.C

New York Dessert Cafe- i finally got this figured out. Once again, xinya and i are here at the Suntec outlet to indulge in some after-meal desserts (at exactly the same seat, how coincidental!).

array of desserts

Here is undoubtely the place for the No.1 Apple Crumble and vanilla icecream, but since we have also heard raves about their cheesecakes, we got both to share...

Apple Crumble with French Vanilla Icecream ($5.95)

Kindly bear with me while i rave about this yet again... A smile-incurring slice of wonder displaying some impressive time-watched baking, grasping the perfect degree of crumble. Boasting of 4 distinct layers; a thin base, a chocolately cinnamon mixture, lucious stewed apple pieces and a crumbly topping- a good bite of the entire combination is all it takes to give that complete satisfaction!

Everything simply mushes in the mouth to give a melt-in-the-mouth, lipsmacking sensation. The icy scoop of icecream came ultra thick and naturally rich of the real vanilla bean content; it Not only gave good temperature contrast to this warm delight but also offered a deep harmonising sweetness.

Yes, this is how good it was.
Simply a winner dessert.

Ally's New York Cheesecake ($6.10)

The goodness of the crumble probably lead to the more toned-down fascination of this. Rich baked cheese with a refreshing lemon tang- not of those terribly wet or sweet ones but a tad too dense for me. A slight let-down from the monotonous digestive biscuit base.

Now we know... nothing can be as heavenly as that yummy slab of crumble. Enough said.
