Ong's Pandan Pancake

Mee Chiang Kuehs with a green tint! I was sure looking forward to trying this unusually-coloured pancakes recommended by Makansutra.

I was hoping to get my pancakes fresh off the pan, but a batch had already been pre-made and left standing when i arrived. Disappointed, but still made do with these cooled ones..

Kaya & Peanut Pandan Pancakes ($0.50 each)

Sad to say, my high expectations weren't totally met. Although chewy in its own way, the batter was much less fluffy than i had anticipated. The dough and kaya not only blended in sight, but in taste as well. Both were so full in pandan flavour, resulting in a rich pandany essence being brought out. Peanut filling- certainly more fragrant and offers subtle crunch but was way too sweet with the sugar mixed in.

Passable MCKs outshining in colour, but not exactly in taste.
